ORANGE CASSIDY VS. POWERHOUSE HOBBS: ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT MATCH

ORANGE CASSIDY VS. POWERHOUSE HOBBS | AEW RAMPAGE

Cassidy still had bandaged ribs from the casino ladder match two weeks ago. Also, this was a bit of a grudge match for Hobbs for when he lost to Cassidy in 12 seconds last year. Cassidy received a thundering spinebuster to start.

Hobbs dominated most of the bout as he basked in torturing his opponent, attacking the back and ribs relentlessly. After escaping a torture rack, Cassidy started to build momentum, but Hobbs was too quick and trapped him in a corner.

The referee became frustrated with Hobbs's refusal to break from Cassidy at the five-count and nearly got himself disqualified. The distraction that ensued gave Freshly Squeezed a chance to get a mousetrap pin. Hobbs had that match won, but his ego cost him. It could have gone to either competitor. Hobbs looked like a beast, but it's only a matter of time before he gets his time to shine.

PENTA & FTR

PENTA & FTR | AEW Rampage Review

Tony Schiavone was going to interview Penta and Alex Abrahantes (Rey is out due to taking a title to the face last week) about losing the AAA titles to FTR last week. Instead, the tag champ and his manager were distracted by two fans wearing the FTR masks, allowing the heels to attack the two from behind before Pac came to their defense.

So, the Death Triangle seems to be fighting a war on two fronts, perhaps three, following the conclusion of the main event.

BRITT BAKER VS. ANNA JAY: GRUDGE MATCH

BRITT BAKER VS. ANNA JAY: GRUDGE MATCH | AEW Rampage Review

Baker is over with the crowd, despite being a heel. The two teed off on one another and grappled on the mat to start the bout off. Anna has some nice moves in her arsenal but moves a little too slow compared to Britt.

She needs some more urgency in her fighting style. The women fought pretty evenly in the early half. Britt sent Anna crashing face-first into the middle turnbuckle, but she doesn't stay down for long as they go back to even sparring after.

The champion finally got Anna reeling on the ropes and put on the Lock Jaw glove, but Anna wouldn't let her lock in the maneuver. The Dark Order member transitioned some pin attempts into the Queen Slayer chokehold, but Britt fought her way out of it.

Anna locked it in a second time, but Britt turned it into a lockjaw for the submission victory. After her hand was raised, she put the move back on until Tay Conti, the number one contender for the women's championship, made the save for her best friend.

PAC VS. ANDRADE EL IDOLO 2

PAC VS. ANDRADE EL IDOLO 2 | AEW Rampage

Everyone associated with both combatants were banned from ringside. The match started fast and hard as Pac hit a senton to the outside within the first 30 seconds. The brit had control for the first quarter, but Andrade gained momentum by landing the three amigos. Pac started to fight back, but Andrade stopped him in his tracks with a boot to the face but missed a slingshot dropkick and tumbled out of the ring.

Pac took advantage with a moon Sault onto Andrade. He tried for the brutalizer submission back in the ring, but Andrade got to the ropes. After trading some brutal moves on one another, they duked it out in the middle of the ring with a newfound surge of adrenaline that saw Pac come out victorious to secure a 3-count.

The lights immediately went out for Malakai Black, who appeared in the ring to attack Pac with Andrade. Cody then made the save and drove the heels away. Cody and Black will face off for the third and final time tomorrow on Dynamite. After three weeks of video packages and hype, we wait and see if Cody can come back with the crowd's support.

Last time, his over-the-top entrance didn't do him any favors, but perhaps the new intensity will bring the people to his corner. If not, hopefully, he'll turn heel, as he may not be able to rebound as a face.
