Beth Phoenix Announces NXT Departure
Relationship With WWE Will Continue
Beth Phoenix has been a commentator on WWE NXT for the past three years, but it looks like that may be coming to an end soon. The Hall of Famer announced today via social media that she would commentate on her last NXT broadcast at Sunday’s WarGames. Although she will be leaving her commentating duties, it has been stated that she will still be a part of WWE. You can view her announcement below.
After replacing Percy Watson, Beth Phoenix joined the commentary table back in May of 2019 alongside Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness. This was her first time as a full-time commentator. However, there are talks of the Glamazon being used on the main roster. Additionally, since her husband, Edge, made his return to the red brand alongside The Miz and his wife Maryse, it could be possible that the two married couples will be teaming up against one another in mixed tag action.
The two stars returned this past Monday on Raw as promotion for the Day 1 pay-per-view began, so a match between the four is a real possibility. Beth could also be joining the Raw commentary table. She would be the first woman to take a seat since Renee Young before leaving the company two years ago. Only time will tell how Beth Phoenix is utilized.
