Brownlow Medal '21 Preview

Updated: Oct 13, 2021

Who Will Take Charlie Home This Year?

The 2021 AFL Brownlow Medal will be held on Sunday, the 19th of September, with Optus stadium to host the event. It will be live from 7:30 AEST on Channel 7, with a 5:30 start in Perth.

Gillon McLachlan will read the votes out of Perth. Like last year, invited players will attend functions at state-based venues around the country.

For this preview, let’s look at the three highest players fancied to win the Brownlow this year:

-Ollie Wines starting at $2.60. Wines has had an incredible year, averaging 32 disposals, 15 kicks, eight handballs, and five marks. Only missing two games this year, Wines has been inspirational for Port.

-Marcus Bontempelli at $3.75. Bontempelli has led from the front all year for the Dogs, averaging 27 disposals, 15 kicks, 11 handbells, and four marks. He has played 24 of a possible 25 games so far this year, being a sensational leader.

-Clayton Oliver at $3.80. Oliver has averaged an elite 31.5 disposals and 17.5 contested possessions. Along with 14 kicks, 17 handbells, and five tackles. Oliver has been exceptional through Melbourne’s midfield this year and might lead them towards a first premiership since 1964.

These players have been exceptional this year and we are looking forward to a fabulous Brownlow night from the rare territory of Perth next Sunday night.
