Disney + Day 2021: What's New

Disney + Day Is November 12 - And There's Plenty New To Watch

November 12, 2021, marks the two-year anniversary of the Disney + streaming service launch. To celebrate the day, Disney + subscribers can stream new and exclusive content from Disney and its related companies/brands, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.

The one that many people have been waiting for is Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It's been in theaters for a while, but this marks the first time it becomes available for screening at home. Since we're still in the midst of the pandemic, I'm certain many people have been waiting for this opportunity.

Another new-this-year movie being released for streaming on November 12th is Jungle Cruise. It stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Emily Blunt. Based on the Disney park theme ride, the story revolves around a group of travelers taken into a dangerous jungle that hides a supernatural element.

One that will be fun for the whole family is Olaf Presents. Voiced by original voice actor Josh Gad, it's a series of animated shorts featuring the beloved and quirky snowman. The entire first season will be released this day.

There will also be an animated short by The Simpsons for fans of that franchise. And Star Wars stans will have a Boba Fett special to check out, called Under The Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett.

Other shorts include Feast, Get a Horse, Paperman, Tangled Ever After, The Little Matchgirl, The Ballad of Nessie, Tick Tock Tale, Ciao Alberto, and Frozen Fever. Originally released in 2015, Frozen fans have been waiting a long time to see Frozen Fever finally hit the Disney + platform.

You can also catch some of your favorite comedians in Home Sweet Home Alone. In this new contribution to the adventure-comedy franchise, you'll see names like Ellie Kemper, Kenan Thompson, and Chris Parnell.

Also worth mentioning is The World According To Jeff Goldblum. Episodes 1-5 of the second season will be available on this day.

The first season of Entrelazados drops then as well. The name translates as "Entertwined." This Argentinian comedy-drama is geared toward children and young teens. It's about a young girl, dreaming of one day being an actress, who looks up to her "living-legend" famous actress grandmother. The relationship between her mother and grandmother, however, is strained. In a strange, mysterious twist, she gets a closer look at the inner workings of her family. With new insight into her mother, she begins attempting to heal old wounds between mom and grandma.

Other new material will come soon after, extending the fun for the whole month. While it's not officially part of Disney + Day, look forward to more features like A Muppets Christmas: Letters To Santa on November 19th. New episodes of PJ Masks and Puppy Dog Pals arrive on November 24th.

November 24th also marks the two-episode premiere of Marvel's Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner stars as Hawkeye, joined by Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, and more. On Disney + Day, we've been promised specials regarding the future of the Marvel Universe on Disney - but they've been tight-lipped so far on what exactly they are.

The very next day (November 25), we get the first part of the 3-part Beatles docuseries The Beatles: Get Back. You won't have to wait long for the follow-up, as all three parts will be released by November 27th (each part drops daily).

If you're in the holiday spirit, other fun family films include Duck The Halls: A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special, Ernest Saves Christmas, and Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas. These will all be available on the platform starting November 26th.
