Germany Qualifies For 2022 World Cup
Updated: Oct 15, 2021
European World Cup Qualifying Results 11/10/21

A youthful German side is the first nation to book a qualifying spot for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar next year. Die Mannschaft knew going into their fixture against North Macedonia that they would seal their passage to Qatar with a win if Armenia failed to defeat Romania.
It was a tense first half, as the German launched an assault on the Macedonian goal. They just couldn't find a way past Stole Dimitrievski, Timo Werner the main culprit. Despite having chance after chance, the Chelsea man seemed to be having one of those days. The halftime whistle blew and the score was 0-0.
It didn't take long for another Chelsea player to break the deadlock for Germany. Kai Havertz was on the receiving end of some beautiful passing as Serge Gnabry threaded a long pass through to veteran Thomas Muller who unselfishly laid it on for Havertz as Germany finally had a deserved lead.
After fluffing chance after chance in the first half Timo Werner scored twice in a matter of minutes to confirm the three points. The first came from more clever passing involving Thomas Muller again, and finally, the Chelsea man made no mistake this time. The next was an individual piece of brilliance as he curled one into the right corner from the edge of the box. This is what Timo Werner is capable of at the top of his game.

The cherry on top of the cake came from Jamal Musiala as he finished off a beautiful chance that came about from some great pressing by the German midfield, slotting past the unlucky North Macedonian keeper to make it 4-0. At the age of 18 years and 227 days old he became the youngest German player to score an international goal in over 100 years.
Qualification was assured when Romania secured a 1-0 victory over Armenia, giving Germany an unassailable lead at the top of Group J.
Elsewhere the Netherlands put 6 past tiny European nation Gibraltar. Goals from Virgil Van Dijk, Denzel Dumfries, Donyell Malen & a brace from Barcelona striker Memphis Depay secured a regulation victory for the Oranje.
