Jeff Hardy Has Been Released By WWE
As of December 9, 2021, Jeff hardy has officially been released from his WWE contract. This comes just days after a video surfaced of his odd behavior during a match at a live show. He was teaming with fellow WWE superstars Drew McIntyre and Xavier Woods against Roman Reigns and The Usos. Hardy spent much of the match in the ring, where he was said to have become more sluggish as the bout went on. When he finally reached Drew for a hot tag, he left the ring and crossed over the barricade through the crowd. He did not return to celebrate with his team after winning the match.
Hardy was said to have been sent home from the house show tour last weekend after the incident. Before his release, Sean Ross Sapp wrote that he had heard that WWE offered hardy help and rehab, for which he refused. Jeff has had a history of substance abuse throughout his career. It has led to his release from the company before back in the early 2000s. He was arrested back in 2009 during a house raid on his house for buying prescription drugs illegally. It is unknown if the house show incident was due to a relapse.
After being drafted from Raw, Hardy recently joined the SmackDown roster back in October. He had as of late he was in a program with Drew McIntyre in a feud against happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. He first returned to the company with his brother Matt in 2017 at WrestleMania 33. However, his brother would depart from the company three years later to join AEW after his contract expired.
Since Jeff's release yesterday, his peers from across the industry have sent out their support for the star as he is well-loved.
